PC Died & Revived

Symptoms (for weeks) before dead:

• Occasionally blackout & came back during usage
• Screen hang

Then 2 days back it suddenly died along with all my photos & videos, the HDD simply cannot be recognized. So most suspicious, it is HDD failure.

Panic, but researching a little, here's my step on reviving the HDD.

• Loaded up Ubuntu Live
• From Ubuntu, download TestDisk Linux version kernel 2.6.x i386/x86_64
• And run it, i.e. sudo testdisk-6.9/linux/testdisk_static

• Did an analyse & wrote back the partition

That solved the HDD portion, and quickly did a backup to all important stuffs before it happens again.
